Local Art Events

Central Florida has a thriving art scene with some wonderful local and regional talent. On this page we feature info on some of our favorite monthly art events happening around the Orlando area. You can also click on the calendar for events on specific dates.

Every first Wednesday, WineART Wednesdays hits the Downtown Lake Mary District (just off Lake Mary Boulevard and 4th Street next to Lake Mary City Hall) from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Stroll through the park and visit the artists’ booths along the sidewalks of downtown. Unwind to some live music while sipping a glass of wine from the new Beer and Wine Garden in Central Park. Get some great food from some of the best food trucks and newest restaurants in town. FIRST THURSDAYS: ORLANDO MUSEUM OF ART (OMA)From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., every first Thursday of the month, Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) hosts its 1st Thursdays event. The front gallery is transformed to display the theme of the month as interpreted by selected local artists. Catered food is available for purchase, as is beer and wine. Live entertainment can include musicians, dancers, poets, actors and more. For more information, visit their website or Facebook page. FIRST FRIDAYS: FIRST FRIDAY FESTIVAL & ART STROLL IN BALDWIN PARK

Every first Friday, Baldwin Park Village Center hosts its First Friday Festival & Art Stroll along New Broad Street in Baldwin Park from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This free monthly event is open to the public and is both family and pet friendly. Enjoy live music, drink specials, free samples, and interactive activities. Over 40 local artists display their art while guests shop, stroll and sip through the heart of downtown Baldwin Park. Businesses and non-profit organizations offer info on health and fitness, beauty, fashion, and community service opportunities. SECOND THURSDAYS: WINE & ART WALK IN THORNTON PARK

From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Thornton Park District’s 2nd Thursday Wine & Art Walk takes places along E. Washington Street, N. Summerlin Avenue and Central Boulevard, in Orlando. $10 gets you a stamp, a glass, and a map of all the locations where you will be greeted with a complimentary pour of wine, beer, or cocktail! SECOND THURSDAYS: ALIVE AFTER 5 (AA5) IN SANFORD

Hosted by the Historic Sanford Welcome Center, Alive After 5 is Sanford’s monthly street festival taking place on the second Thursday of every month from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy food and drink samples from approximately 50 vendors (with wristband), live music and art in beautiful Downtown Sanford. Wristbands are $7 and can be purchased on the day of the event starting at 5 p.m. at the Sanford Welcome Center, a booth on 1st St. & Palmetto Ave., a booth on 1st St. & Park Ave., and Sanford Flower Shop. Parking is free!

THIRD THURSDAYS: CITYARTS IN DOWNTOWN ORLANDO

Every third Thursday, the Downtown Arts District is the place to be for the 3rd Thursday Gallery Hop, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Park at the Plaza Parking Garage and bring your parking voucher to CityArts Factory for validation and park for $4. Visit a series of galleries and non-traditional art venues (restaurants, boutiques, and salons) to see the best of Orlando’s emerging artists, as well as nationally and internationally acclaimed artists. It’s never a dull moment downtown with street performers, bands, dance troupes, mimes and who knows what. Expect the unexpected. THIRD SATURDAYS: SANFORD ART WALK

The Historic Sanford Welcome Center is the hub for the Sanford Art Walk, with live music and art by local artists on display. It’s a juried art show in the Welcome Center at 230 E. First St., in Sanford, plus a walking tour of the art venues in historic downtown Sanford. The Sanford Art Walk happens from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month.
